‘SheshNaag’ : The 2.8 km longest train ever in the Indian Railways history

The South East Central Railway zone of Indian Railways recently operated the SheshNaag Train service, a 2.8 km long train combining 4 empty BOXN rakes. The train was operated by four sets of electric locomotives as for powering its massive movement.

In the history of Indian Railways, the national transporter has for the first time run a 2.8 km long ‘SheshNaag’ train. Indian Railways breaks another record by operating four trains together!

It is the longest train ever to run on the Indian Railways network. According to details shared by the Railway Ministry, the South East Central Railway zone of Indian Railways recently operated the SheshNaag Train service, a 2.8 km long train joining the four empty BOXN rakes which was further powered by four sets of electric locomotives.

The current situations in the country which on one hand witness a diminishing economic slope, and on the other facing an additional jolt due to the nationwide lockdown; this petty move through the launch of ‘SheshNaag’ can add to the hopes. The advent of this asset in the railway substructures hold immense possibilities from the domestic trade perspective.
