JioMeet, a video platform started by Jio, a Reliance Company has given new inputs to their application. JioMeet was started in a view to compete with the existing video platform like Microsoft Teams, Google meet and many others. Jio, which has entered the telecom sector with a boom is now coming up with its JioMeet application to put it hands on the video platform. The ongoing pandemic situation all over the world has made the IT sector along with the schools and institutions, to work remotely and stay connected on video platforms for meeting related to tough decisions. Almost, all the higher education going on all over the world, is held online via Zoom meetings and other applications for video calling.
Jio Company started its JioMeet with an intention to provide the users in India with an application with zero subscription charges, so that everyone stays connected with their near and dear ones without any hesitation. To improve its market footprint, JioMeet has decided to add few add-ins from Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook. Also, more layout options will be included in the JioMeet app, which might consist of speaker video and 9 participants gallery, like we have it in Microsoft Teams. The addition of these new features to the JioMeet app will help the small business and enterprises to keep it handy. There would be an option in the Teams app itself to plan and join a JioMeet. Small business enterprises which are using Teams can also join JioMeet conducted by someone else through their teams’ applications. Download option for JioMeet is also available in Teams applications.
The Add on of Outlook in the JioMeet will enable a user to plan and schedule a meeting via JioMeet, using its outlook email with their clients like it is done for Teams. The meeting planned via Outlook will get synchronize with the JioMeet app and the outlook calendar to make you remind about it like it is done in Microsoft Teams. For this, the users need to download the JioMeet on Outlook add on from the outlook Add-in store. ‘Hide and Show’ participants option is also made available on JioMeet, where user can just by one click hide or show its participants. Speaker video and gallery with 9 participants have also been added in the JioMeet applications. The option to pin a video participant to make him highlight in the ongoing call is also made available.
Most of the Microsoft Teams features are made available on JioMeet. The JioMeet was introduced in July last year, and is available for mobile devices, and Computers too. One can download the application from Play store as well as App Store. To sign in to the JioMeet application, user can either use their email ID or can also log in with the mobile number. JioMeet as of now supports 9 active members on a single mobile screen. JioMeet also has a provision to set you own meeting ID and passwords like you can do in Zoom Meeting, to ensure you can use it for the recurring meetings. It also supports HD audio and HD video quality. It supports 100 participants and has features like screen sharing, giving control to remote users. If you ever wish to change your device in ongoing meeting, JioMeet provides you with a feature to change the device without dropping off the call. User can also log in to multiple devices using the JioMeet user ID.
