Infosys on a five year deal with the European automotive logistics, Gefco to digitize its worldwide operations

The purpose behind collaboratively signing the deal is to digitize the global operations of Gefco, which by now has presence in 47 countries and serves about 300 locations (across five continents) globally with 15,000 personnel.

The ultimate benefit that draws potent attention of digitization in logistics is the real time processing of information and the meaningful responses it can draw out across the value chain. As a matter of fact, supply chain management in itself comprises a complex chain right from the facility of origin to the destination. For a logistic giant like Gefco, who is a prominent market player in finished vehicle logistics and is one of the top 10 global partners in multimodal supply chain solutions, the value chain further invites complexities in the efficient delivery of automobiles. The digitization platform offered by the India-based Infosys is not just expected to offer the real time tracking of the automotive logistics but is further anticipated to analyze the meaningful data generated within the entire product flow process.

Gefco’s global network of experts respond with nimbleness to the most demanding challenges of supply chain and as a result of which, the company turned to Infosys for the digitization approach. In the words of Infosys global head for retail and logistics on the occasion, it was reported as, “We value the trust of Gefco in us on its digital transformation, as we have a shared vision on the ‘art of possible’. We will apply our live enterprise approach to help it scale new performance thresholds and enhance its market leadership”. This is seen upon as a lucrative passage to the Indian software-based companies who encapsulate the local expertise and yet are efficient to deploy it on the global frontiers.
