Fujifilm India, an imaging solutions company has inked a partnership with Max Healthcare super specialty hospital in the National Capital on October 15, 2019 for training doctors in detection of breast cancer and advance diagnostics at its super specialty hospital in Saket, New Delhi. Under the deal, Fujifilm will sponsor an advanced six-month fellowship with Max Healthcare in breast imaging.
Haruto Iwata, MD, Fujifilm India, stated that “According to the Health Ministry of India, breast cancer ranks as the number one cancer among Indian females with rate as high as 25.8 per 100,000 women and mortality of 12.7 per 100,000 women. The team at Fujifilm are dedicated and focused on improving the survival rates with advance treatments.” The company’s revolutionary Amulet Innovality is one such product that has made early detection of breast cancer a reality for women across the globe.
The company said that the doctors will be trained in breast mammography, Magnetic Resonance (MR) and ultrasound techniques for six months through the Max-Fujifilm Collaboration fellowship programme. The partnership will start with training one doctor for six months through its programme. This programme will also be providing training to two select radiologists every year for early detection of Breast Cancer.
Fujifilm installs 50 Micron digital Mammography machines at Max Healthcare for easy and accurate detection of cancer. “In India, breast cancer is usually detected at an advanced stage like 3 or 4, when it is very late. This product of Fujifilm will help doctors and radiologists in the early detection of cancer,” said Chander Shekhar Sibal, Fujifilm India’s senior vice-president and head of the medical division.
