France facade market is estimated to grow considerably, at a CAGR of around 4.8%, during the forecast period. The demand for various facade solutions in the country is backed by substantial growth in the building & construction industry of the country. As per the European Commission, over 2010-2016, the production in the construction industry witnessed a drop of 12.9% due to the economic crisis and its consequences. Production in construction of buildings and civil engineering dropped by 13.9% and 8.7% respectively over the same period. However, the profitability of the sector has increased with a turnover amounting to $500 million in 2016, which is 6.4% up from 2010 level.
Further, between 2010 and 2016 the number of companies in the broad construction sector has witnessed a 19.6% growth, reaching 834,617. In 2016, the total value added of the broad construction sector was $174 billion, with the narrow construction sub-sector having the largest share of nearly 55.8%, followed by real estate projects that contributed around 23.7%, architectural and engineering projects contributed approx. 13.7% and manufacturing contributed to 6.8% respectively. With the increase in the investment in the growing construction sector of the country, the demand for facade solutions is estimated to get driven in the forecast period.
The investment of $22.4 billion out of planned $64 billion investment will be provided to the construction sector. In addition, EIB (European Investment Bank) in 2016, invested around $3.6 billion for construction projects, 50% of which were for the modernization of public transport and the construction of the first line of the Grand Paris Express. Under the Construction Revival Plan, a total of $78.3 million were invested for the Asbestos R&D Plan, the Building Digital Transition Plan, and the Action Program for Construction Quality and Energy Transition. The Construction Revival Plan is aimed at strengthening the digital and energy efficiency skills of the workforce.
