Colgate Has Announced A Breakthrough Technology: A Revolution In Oral Hygiene

Colgate has introduced a tech savvy toothbrush that has sensors with optic technology that detects biofilm buildup in the mouth so that the brush in real time can tell that the plague is to be removed. This product will revolutionize the way people brush as the data would be generated distinctively for each person differently and for different brushing styles as well. Colgate® Plaqless Pro toothbrush, when launched later this year will be commercially available and would the first that detects biofilm and coach in real time.

The CDO of Colgate. Dr. Maria Ryan has commented saying, “In the dentist’s office, we’re beginning to see a shift toward precision oral care that tailors treatment to each patient’s specific needs. The Colgate Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush is inspired by that shift and improves brushing efficacy by accounting for an individual’s brushing technique and the biofilm buildup in their mouth. And by immediately alerting the user when an area is clean, Plaqless Pro coaches them to brush better, helping both the patient and the oral care provider to build an even stronger partnership in achieving optimal oral health,” she added.

The smart electric toothbrush will enable the user to know in real time whether one place of the mouth needs more brushing or not to remove the excessive biofilm. How does this mechanism work is that there is a light ring around the toothbrush which enables the user to have a blue light when there is some plaque or buildup found, this helps the user to know whether to continue or move on? With the brush having the Bluetooth feature which gets seamlessly connected to Colgate Connect App on any smart device. This will enhance the user experience in a way that would make the customer vary how clean are oral hygiene, also giving prompt feedbacks and would generate a report cards for a period of time. This will act as a real time personalized oral dental doctor. The app will also project whether which part of the mouth and which part needs more attention. The app cumulatively generates feedback, personalized data, and oral tips.
