An Italian research institute, Isinnova widened its efforts to curtail the shortage of ventilator valves in certain hospitals of Italy by using 3D printing. This, in turn, will support to accelerate the production of ventilators and meet the acute shortage of this essential medical equipment in the country. On 3rd April 2020, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) declared that it is collaborating with Siare Engineering, a manufacturer of ventilators in Italy, to provide additional resources to support leverage the production of ventilators. FCA, along with its holding companies, Ferrari and Exor, has combined forces with Siare Engineering to offer additional resources and expertise to support leverage its response to the crisis. FCA engineering team at the Cento, Italy plant have worked to rapidly manufacture the first group of electrovalves, a key part in ventilators. This partnership will support to meet the demand for ventilators in the country.
