Auto Expo 2020, an event, that beholds the great minds coming together on a platform for showcasing the finest products, technologies, concepts, and trends in the automotive world. Auto Expo is jointly organized by ACMA, CII and SIAM. The biggest automobile exhibition, Auto Expo 2020, scheduled from 7th to 12th February 2020, in Greater Noida, Delhi. There are numerous automobile giants from India based as well as across the globe, that showcased and launched their best technologies and products at the exhibition. The prominent carmakers participated in include Skoda, Renault, Hyundai Motor Company, Volkswagen MG Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Kia Motors, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mercedes-Benz and China’s greatest automobile manufacturer Great Wall Motors.
At the 15th Auto Expo, electric mobility and the latest SUVs models were primarily accentuated, as there’s a prolonged demand coupled with the commencement of numerous products in the automobile industry across the globe. Thus, Auto Expo 2020 gives a platform to demonstrate the vision of the future of electric vehicles. Some of the latest models in the spotlight include the second generation of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the novel seven-seater MG Gloster, Kia concept compact SUV and Tata Gravitas.
The China-based manufacturer Great Wall Motors made its Indian debut at the exhibition with the launch of luxurious SUV models and primarily centered on electric mobility. The company announced to launch the Haval and ORA brands in India. Ora electric car models including R1, R2 and iQ comes with AI-based connectivity feature and offers the mileage of 351km through its 35kW motor on a single charge. The company also showcased Haval H6 to compete in the SUV segment, including its premium features such as cruise control, panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touch screen instrument, all-LED exterior lighting, and more.
Further, Mahindra & Mahindra turned the spotlight on its range of electric vehicles and solutions and confirmed the launch of vehicles including a concept car, two novel models of an electric 3-wheeler named Treo, and 3 electric cars. The models include the Mahindra Funster, the Atom EV, e-XUV300, and e-KUV100. Thriving in such a competitive market, Maruti Suzuki showcased its new model Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e, all-electric SUV in its electric vehicle segment. MG Motors, under its SAIC umbrella came up with an all-new electric vehicle model, MG ZS EV; and a premium electric SUV, MG Marvel X. Renault Kwid, one of the admired SUV inspired hatchback is getting electric and is launched in China as City K-ZE. Thus, to sustain in the market the carmakers are fighting for the throne in the EV sphere.
Taking aim at the affordable segment under the EV banner, many manufacturers have begun production and launch of the EV, whereas, some of them are investing time, efforts and manpower. There’s a lot more to be explored in the Auto Expo 2020.
