Novartis Biome India, based in Hyderabad, is one of the four Novartis Biomes, following its launches in San Francisco (United States), Paris (France) and London (United Kingdom)
Global Pharma giant Novartis AG launched a digital innovation hub, Biome India in Hyderabad on February 18, 2020. This is the first such center of the company in Asia and the fourth center globally. The other centers are located in San Francisco, Paris and London.
There is already a huge presence of Novartis in Hyderabad with its drug development and R&D facilities. India is a huge hub for the company with approximately 8,000 employees, manufacturing facilities and business services.
Biome India will interact with innovators passionate and start-ups regarding healthcare. This hub will serve as a bridge to the external ecosystem, that will enable Novartis teams for better discovering, developing and driving collaborations that transform innovative initiatives into impactful and scalable solutions for patients.
The global CEO of Novartis AG, Vasant (Vas) Narasimhan received the Genome Valley Excellence Award at the ongoing BioAsia 2020 summit, made the announcement there.
By joining this global network, the Novartis Biome India is aimed at tapping into the assets and expertise of the broader Novartis portfolio for having even greater impact, such as having access to anonymised data, customised residency programs and personalized mentoring. India has a rich and vibrant technology community. The company sees a fantastic future opportunity for combining its scientific know-how with the expertise of tech players, for creating digital solutions for patients, at scale.
