The Proteomics Society, India (PSI) in 2009 was established as a platform. The facility is also a shared research facility within the University’s Technology Directorate. Study of the role of proteomics in studies of protein lighting and development of the method for absolute quantification of equine acute phase protein is among the research based on proteomics conducted by the Centre for Proteome Research. Moreover, in the US, Stowers Institute for Medical Research offers a multidimensional protein identification technology (MudPIT) which is based on a chromatography-based proteomic approach. MudPIT allows the discovery and identification of low abundance proteins and is extremely sensitive. Stowers Institute for Medical Research uses the spectral counting approach as a label free proteomics quantitation tool.
