Xiaomi took everyone with surprise with a series of announcement through the company’s India chief Manu Kumar Jain and several other company representatives on the stage. Mr. Jain discussed the company’s milestones, including 100 million smartphone sales in the last five years. Mr. Jain made it clear in his speech that Xiaomi is much more than just a smartphone company and has many pipeline products that are expected to hit the market very soon. During his speech he revealed that Xiaomi has stake in over 200 ecosystem companies. He confirmed the speculations that Xiaomi is expected to introduce smart home devices to India in today’s event.

In the much-awaited launch event, Mr. Jain announced the introduction of Mi TVs with four new smart TV models in India including the flagship Mi TV 4X 65-inch. Mr. Jain explained how Xiaomi contributes in manufacturing 80% of the Mi TVs that are sold in India, an estimated 3 million Mi TVs are sold till now. Mr. Jain made it clear that Xiaomi will not be restricted only to smartphone, there is much more in the bag that is going to make big difference in changing the brand image of Xiaomi.

As the event progresses Mr. Sudeep Sahu discussed the specs and utility of new Xiaomi smart TVs. Mr. Sahu discussed the technical details of Mi TV, for instance, Mi TV 4X 65-inch will provide 40% more viewable area than a 55-inch TV. Mi TV will be available in a metal design with ultra-slim bezels and sporty looks powered with Vivid Colour Engine and ultra-bright display. Adding on, Mr. Sahu threw some light on other variants of Mi TV, for instance, the Mi TV 4X 65-inch will have the brightest display that Xiaomi ever introduced in any smart TV. Mi TV 4X65-inch TV will be equipped with 4K UHD resolution backed by HDR 10 that also supports by Dolby Audio and DTS HD.

Mr. Sahu confirms their content partners to PatchWall which includes Netflix and Amazon Prime with data saver feature. PatchWall 2.0 will be the latest smart TV user interface that will bring access to live news without any registrations or log-ins. Mr. Sahu made it clear that the Xiaomi Mi TV 4X 65-inch (price Rs 54,999) will run on Android 9.0 TV, and it will be equipped with quad-core Cortex A55 processor, 20W speakers, and Bluetooth 5.0.

In the series of announcements, Mr. Sahu further unveiled Mi TV 4X 43-inch (Price Rs.24,999/-) and Mi TV 4X 50-inch TVs (price Rs. 29,999) that include 4K UHD screen and packs 20W speakers. Additionally, Mr. Sahu launched new Mi TV 4A 40-inch (price Rs. 17,999/-) that packs full-HD display and 20W speakers. Additionally, a new Black version of the Mi Soundbar of Rs 4,999/- has been launched in India. Mr. Sahu, explained the specs in detailed followed by Mr. Raghu Reddy speech, in which he introduced the new Mi Smart Water Purifier, one could hardly guess this launch from Xiaomi. The design of the water purifier was sporty and compact with just two buttons and has a 7-litre water tank capacity.

Mr. Reddy explained the water purifier features that offers a five-level purification. The first cartridge features polypropylene cotton and activate carbon, second cartridge packs RO technology and the third cartridge has post-activated carbon. The company is confident to make difference in the already competitive water purifier and RO industry. Mr. Reddy further put emphasis on the UV lamp equipped in the water tank. Mr. Reddy assures that the Mi water purifier will have real-time monitoring with two TDS sensors. The TDS levels can be seen on the Mi Home app that will help the consumers to buy additional water filters. Mi Smart Water Purifier will not require any expert to replace, the filter can be replaced in short time of 30 seconds (claimed by the company). Mi Smart Water Purifier has been priced at Rs. 11,999/- in India market which will be available for sale from 29th September 2019 at 12pm on Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.

Further, Mr. Reddy unveiled Mi Smart Band 4 powered with 0.95-inch colour AMOLED touchscreen display with 120×240 pixels resolution. According to the company the new Mi Smart Band 4 will have a battery life of 20 days, designed with six-axis accelerometer to monitor physical activities such as exercise, running, cycling and walking. Additionally, Mr. Reddy the fitness band will have 24×7 heart rate monitoring support, 50 metres water-resistance, and music control support. Mi Smart Band 4 has been priced at Rs. 2,299/- in India market on Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores from 19th September 2019 at 12pm.

In the series of announcement, Mr. Reddy unveiled the new Mi Motion Activated Night Light 2 which is a new product that is out on company’s crowdfunding platform in India beginning from today. Lights will go up on motion and can work in low to dark ambient light without any problem. The new product has a sporty design powered with two brightness levels that will cost around Rs. 500/-.

Mi Band 4, Mi TV with 4 variants, Mi Water Purifier was the key highlights of the event. Mi Band 4 was already launched in China. Xiaomi flagship Smart TVs will range from Rs. 17,999/- to Rs 54,000/-.
